🧭 God’s Guidance – How to Know God’s Will in Important Decisions

🕊️ How to Hear God’s Voice? How to Understand His Counsel?

📖 “You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory.” — Psalm 73:24

❤️ Beloved brothers and sisters in Christ,

💭 A few days ago, a sister asked me an important question:

❓ “How can we hear God’s voice? How can we understand His counsel?”

🌱 This is a common question among many believers today, especially young people.

📖 The Ways God Speaks

📚 In the Bible, we see many ways in which God speaks to people:

• 👦 Samuel — Heard God’s voice like a human voice in his childhood.
• 🔥 Moses — Spoke with God face to face.
• 👼 Cornelius — Heard God’s voice through an angel.

🌍 Some people in our modern times have also experienced this uniquely:

📖 They have testified to experiencing the Lord directly.

⚠️ However, such experiences are rare.

🕊️ Generally, there are two primary ways God speaks to His people:

1. 📖 The Holy Scriptures (The Word of God)
2. 🎵 The Still Small Voice

📖 1) The Holy Scriptures — The Voice of God

📚 About the Bible, it is said:

⚔️ It is a “double-edged sword.”

🕊️ It is “breathed out by the Holy Spirit.”

👨‍🏫 It “makes man complete.”

The Psalmist says:

“How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word.”

Therefore, we must:

📖 Read the Bible daily.

🔄 Make it a habit.

💭 My Experience:

📖 One day, I was prompted to read the verse: “The eye is the lamp of the body…” (Matthew 6:22) repeatedly.

🚌 Later, while traveling on a bus,

👀 the scenes I saw there tested my heart.

🕊️ At that moment, the verse I read that morning resonated in my spirit.

🔄 I immediately shifted my focus.

⚠️ If I hadn’t read the Bible that day, I might have returned to my old slavery to sin.

📌 Lesson:

🛡️ Bible reading will protect us.

😴 It may seem boring at first.

✨ But if you continue to read it, you will understand its power.

🌬️ 2) The Still Small Voice — Inner Guidance

🌍 In today’s world:

🎧 Headphones, 📱 Social Media, 🔊 Constant noise

These become obstacles to hearing God’s still, small voice.

To hear His voice:

🤫 We must seek silence.

📵 We must reduce worldly distractions.

❤️ We must quiet our hearts.

💭 My Experience:

🙏 While praying for a decision regarding a job:

📖 A verse came to mind: “He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters.” (Psalm 23:2)

🕊️ Along with it came a deep peace.

👣 I made my decision based on that. To my surprise, the company I joined was a place that felt natural and was filled with green, flourishing life.

✨ To this day, the Lord leads me.

🔍 Other Ways

🕊️ There are other ways God speaks:

🎙️ Through a servant of God.

👥 Through a fellow human being.

🌧️ Through circumstances.

😌 Or through a sense of peace and stillness.

⚖️ However, these must be tested with discernment. Any guidance that contradicts God’s Word is not from God.

🌱 Final Thought

🙏 To receive God’s counsel, we must:

• 🙏 Wait in prayer.
• 📖 Read the Bible consistently.
• 🕊️ Be attentive to inner guidance.

⏳ This does not happen in a single day.

🌱 As we grow daily, this experience will increase.

👣 The Lord is still leading His sheep.

❤️ We must cultivate a heart that listens to His voice.
